Formed by a group of like-minded professors at the IIT, Madras, the TeNeT Group has conducted extensive research on the issues involved in providing connections to small towns and rural areas. The huge and largely unfulfilled need in this area led to the setting up of n-Logue Communications.

TeNeT is focused on meeting the technology needs of developing countries like India. It’s research has led to the design and development of appropriate technologies for these markets, as well as the incubation of several companies including Midas Communications and Banyan Networks.

One of the significant outputs of its research is corDECT , a Wireless in Local Loop system designed jointly by TeNeT, Midas and Analog Devices, USA. The cost-effective access technology provides simultaneous voice and Internet connectivity, and is faster and more reliable than conventional technologies.

Today WLL systems have been successfully implemented in India, as well as in several other countries around the world including Brazil, Argentina, Madagascar, Fiji, Yemen, Kenya, Tunisia and Iran.
